Group Tarot or Intuitive Card Sessions
Group tarot or intuitive card readings are a unique bonding experience for family and friends. A group circle is formed and each person gets their cards read out loud by the intuitive reader. Each person gets a 10 - 15 minute reading (unless they request longer). In this way a large group can split the cost of the call out for the intuitive reader, and also get all their readings done in a couple of hours.
What Exactly are Tarot Cards?
The tarot deck is the most ancient of decks, dating back to the 15th century. The earliest tarot cards were hand-painted, and so the number of tarot decks produced were small and sacred. It was only after the printing press came about that the tarot decks began to really spread. At first tarot cards were used as playing cards, for card games. However, some believed that tarot cards have links to ancient Egypt, Iran, the Kabbalah, Indian Tantra, or the ancient Chinese divination text; Ching. They were meant to be understood, and used, only by a those with special, secret knowledge for divinatory purposes.
Debunking the Evil Stigma of Tarot Cards
Back in the 15th and 16th century, the churches view of witchcraft created a fear of tarot cards and the mystics. More recently, there was a negative stigma attached to tarot - thanks to horror movies. Tarot cards were portrayed as scary or intimidating tools used to bring forth evil spirits. However, tarot cards are actually used for spiritual guidance that enables one to connect to his or her inner wisdom. Much like oracle or intuitive cards decks (more information on those below), Tarot cards do not necessarily only reveal the future, but also allow one to gain an understanding of a situation and determine the best course of action based on what is known and what the cards show.
Oracle, Angel and other Intuitive Cards
Since the popularity of Tarot cards, a plethora of other intuitive card decks have been inspired by nature , animals and religious angels. Oracle cards can be traced back to the 19th century in France where the first deck is said to have been developed by Madame Lenormand.
The diversity of present day intuitive card decks, have given intuitive card readers (previously known as psychics), the opportunity to seek and find decks that specially resonate with them, allowing for a deeper connection to divine wisdom. While Tarot has a more rigid structure that needs to be studied, oracle decks are a little more flexible, again allowing the reader (and receiver) more freedom to connect to their own foresight. However, some intuitive readers may use a combination of Tarot and Oracle cards!
