PRIVATE YOGA CLASSES
We teach private yoga classes to people of all ages, from all walks of life and in all types of physical conditions. Our clients range from beginners to yoga, who feel intimidated by yoga studios and want to improve with private yoga classes, to people who want to get in better shape, or manage pain and stress. I hold one-on-one yoga classes, couple’s yoga and group classes for employees, events and families. We work with people wanting therapeutic yoga to people wanting to improve their fitness and overall health and wellness. We even work with athletes who want to balance flexibility and strength to reduce the risk of sport injuries.
Intermediate yoga practitioners take private yoga classes with us to improve their practice and learn advanced poses. We are comfortable working with women, men, couples or families. We’ve even had kids join in for classes! It’s never too late to start learning yoga. In fact, the older you get, the more your body needs the benefits of yoga to keep the body from stiffening up. Some of our mature students who we do senior’s yoga with, only started yoga later in life, but they are so glad that they did!
YOGA IS FOR EVERY ‘BODY’
Most of our clients are complete beginners to yoga. Private beginner’s yoga classes are ideal for those who want to learn yoga foundations, poses and names of poses. No previous exercise experience is necessary!
We are very patient with beginners and we will work with your level of strength and fitness. We believe in starting slow and building up at a pace that you are comfortable with. We offer in-home yoga sessions to people of all ages, from all walks of life, and in all types of physical conditions. Our students range from people who have tried yoga studios and feel intimidated by the pace and poses, to those who are complete beginners to yoga and want to get in better shape or manage pain, muscle stiffness or stress.
It’s never too late to start learning yoga. In fact, the older you get, the more your body needs the benefits of yoga to keep the body from stiffening up. We have many students who only started yoga at a mature age and are so grateful they did. We have seen an improvement in their pain relief, confidence, energy, motivation, flexibility and stress levels from practicing yoga with us on a regular basis.
Because each person has such a unique body and limitations, I incorporate a wide range of exercises and props into my personal yoga sessions. For stiff and pained shoulders and back, I may use foam rolling and yoga ball rolling. I sometimes also use Pilates exercises and hand weights, especially for core and arms. I’ve found in some cases, yoga poses can be too difficult for certain people, so I customize and blend in whatever exercises are accessible and suitable for a particular person. This way you really get the most out of every private yoga session!
PRIVATE COUPLES YOGA CLASSES
What better way to enjoy yoga than in a private couple's yoga class with your significant other? Learn or practice yoga together with an in-home instructor - I conveniently come to your location for couple’s yoga classes at a time that suits you! I travel to Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and other locations!
I provide yoga mats, blocks, yoga blankets and even foam rollers for therapeutic yoga exercises. Each class is customized for you and your partner, regardless of what level of shape you both are in. Classes move at a pace that you both can work with. You can tell me specifically what kind of workout you want and exercise goals you have in mind, and I’ll shape the yoga session around your requirements.
More and more couples are taking advantage of the benefits of private couple’s yoga classes - not only for the body, but also to manage stress. We seldom take time out in our busy schedule these days just to relax, unwind and work on ourselves. With a partner, you can both improve your wellness and motivate each other to be consistent in your practice.
YOGA FOR STRESS AND ANXIETY MANAGEMENT
For people with high-pressure jobs, trauma, or just navigating everyday life - yoga meditation and breathing exercises calms and refocuses the mind and can relieve stress and tension that has built up in the body. You will be surprised how much stretching tight, stiff muscles and using gentle movements can help with pain and discomfort.
Whether you have chronic pain or something that comes and goes, regular yoga sessions will make a big difference to your overall wellness.
YOGA FOR PAIN MANAGEMENT
Common ailments I deal with in my private yoga clients include back, neck and shoulder pain, and general sitting-related discomfort, like stiffness and pain in the legs. I call these desk injuries. A common example is “mouse shoulder”. This is pain in the shoulder of the arm you use to repetitively move your computer mouse. This can also cause pain in the elbow and wrist (carpal tunnel syndrome).
One of today’s common ailments is screen-related pain called “text neck.” As implied by its name, text neck occurs from staring down at a screen for too long, with bad posture. As one’s head hangs forward and down, the neck protrudes and stretches the muscles at the back of the neck and upper back / shoulders. This results in pain in the neck and shoulders, chronic headaches and increased curvature in the spine. Posture also deteriorates from text neck.
As the legs stiffen up from prolonged sitting, people also seek out yoga for lower back and leg pain (sometimes sciatica). Usually after a few sessions with a new student, the first thing they purchase is an ergonomic office desk on my advice. Awareness of posture is a noticeable effect of beginning yoga classes.
By modifying yoga poses and exercises, I work around existing pain, injuries and previous surgeries. Through yoga, I have helped many people feel relief from discomfort and improve their posture, flexibility and strength.
YOGA & CHAIR YOGA FOR SENIORS
It’s never too late to start learning yoga! In fact, the older you get, the more your body needs the benefits of yoga to keep the muscles from stiffening up and weakening. That is why yoga for seniors is becoming so popular.
I have many clients who only started yoga at a mature age and are so grateful they did. Stiff and weakening muscles begin to limit mobility, decrease quality of life and cause pain. Yoga is a gentle and therapeutic way to prolong body health.
Chair yoga is becoming ever more popular because it makes yoga accessible for a larger range of people. Whether your health issues are related to age, weight, disability or pain issues, chair yoga creates a safe and comfortable environment to learn and practice yoga. Using a chair alleviates the need to perform seated floor yoga. A wide range of stretching and strengthening can be performed while seated on a chair.
Depending on your needs, I may incorporate hand weights and some exercises laying down on the back, for example gentle core exercises and stretching. I conveniently drive out to your Phoenix location too.

YOGA FOR ATHLETES
I also work with athletes to help them with stretching and flexibility, which lowers the risk of injuries. Yoga improves performance by balancing muscle strength throughout the body, whereas in other sports, only certain muscles are repetitively used, causing strain and stress on the body. Yoga compliments other sports by creating and maintaining overall wellness throughout the body and helps keep a clear and calm mind under pressure.
I have taught yoga to football and basketball players, rock climbers, cyclists and runners, to name a few.
